Investment in the Netherlands
Since 2024 the Netherlands no longer has an investor visa for wealthy foreign nationals, and buying property does not grant residence rights. Doing business is possible: through the startup visa with a recognised facilitator, or as a self-employed entrepreneur with a viable business plan. After five years of uninterrupted legal residence you can apply for permanent residence or Dutch citizenship.

Working in the Netherlands usually requires a work permit applied for by the employer: a TWV or a combined GVVA permit. If you already live in the Netherlands, your residence endorsement may already allow you to work freely.
