Investment in the Netherlands
Since 2024 the Netherlands no longer issues an investment visa to foreign investors, and buying property does not lead to a residence right either. Starting a business is still possible: through the startup visa with a recognised facilitator, or as a self-employed entrepreneur with a workable and well-founded business plan. If you have lived in the Netherlands legally and without interruption for five years, you can apply for permanent residence or Dutch citizenship.

Work in the Netherlands
To work in the Netherlands, in most cases your employer has to apply for a work permit (TWV) or a combined permit for residence and work (GVVA) on your behalf. If you already live in the Netherlands, your residence permit may already give you the right to work.
